Booking flow explained using the example of an inbound transport | TradeLink Help Center
This article explains how you can book a delivery through the TradeLink booking portal in just a few steps.
Using the TradeLink booking portal, we will show you how to create a new booking for incoming goods, using the step-by-step guide below.
Before starting with the booking flow, please check the following overview displayed on the start page of the booking portal:
-
“Booking at”: here displayed is the location at which you want to book a delivery at
-
“Who is booking”: Here you will be recognized as the user/booker by the system (and stored as a contact person).
After making sure that the information displayed is correct, chose “Delivery” under “I want to book a” and start the booking of your delivery.
The first overview summarizes which parties are involved in the booking flow. In this case, we deliver the goods directly to the recipient "TL Digital Solutions GmbH".
Click on “Pick-up” or “Delivery” (as a forwarder, you can book both) to start your booking.
Displayed on the right of your screen is the address of the company you are delivering to as well as a summary of your booking. This information will automatically be updated once you complete the steps on the left of the screen. To start, press enter.
Here, you enter the supplier that you have commissioned for the transport.
Next, you can upload your document(s) as described in the text, if applicable. If not, click on “Delivery document not available”.
In the next step, you can enter a reference number for your booking to facilitate the assignment of the delivery on the recipient's side - be it the PO, delivery bill, or transport number.
Confirm your entry by clicking on "Ok" or pressing Enter.
Next, you need to specify the load of your delivery. This step is crucial, as it will determine the time length of your booking slot.
Select the appropriate option from the permitted load units and specify the total number of load units: For example, 10x Euro pallets in standard size.
Additionally, you can tick “Empties” or “Customs goods” to indicate that there are special features to be taken into account for your load. If not, leave them empty.
If your load contains more than one load unit, click on “Add loading units” and select the additional load unit.
Confirm your load information by clicking "Ok" or pressing Enter.
In the fifth step, select the type of vehicle with which you will deliver the goods to the delivery address and confirm by clicking "Ok" or pressing Enter.
Finally, you can select a time slot in the calendar overview at which the delivery can take place.
To do this, click on the day of delivery in the monthly view on the left, which will list the available time slots for this day in the right part. Choose a time slot that suits you and confirm it by clicking on the time slot.
In the last step, you can add an optional comment for the recipient.
To finalize your booking, click on "Book now”.
With your TradeLink account, you are always just one click away from your next booking.
